The Rubber Gloves room displays selected images of gloves washed up on the Cornish coast. Each glove remains untouched, unmoved and photographed exactly as found. These objects, although originally man-made, seem to have become at one with their watery environment, often taking on shapes and colours reminiscent of sea creatures and vegetation. This is tidal art, where nature and man find a symbiosis of qualities to create these stark and beautiful objects. Snaith sees it all and captures the language of these enigmatic life forms in brooding shadows and exotic vibrant colours.
